Orders & Shipping

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is free on orders of $150 or more (7–10 business days), or $2.95 for Standard shipping (4–6 business days). Orders under $150 ship via Ground for a flat $12.95 (5–8 business days). Express shipping is $29.95 on any order (3–5 business days). See Shipping, Returns & Exchanges for details.

How quickly will my order ship?

Most orders are processed within 1–2 business days, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Orders placed after 5 PM Eastern time are processed the next business day. Delivery estimates for each shipping method are shown at checkout before you pay.

How do I track my order?

We email your tracking number and order updates, and you can also find them in your account. Orders with more than one pair may ship from different warehouses, each with its own tracking number. If a package is lost or stolen, let us know within 30 days of your order and we'll file a claim with the carrier for you.

Where do you ship?

We ship only to street addresses within the contiguous United States. We can't ship to P.O. Boxes or outside the U.S., and orders addressed to a P.O. Box are automatically refunded.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Please contact us as soon as possible after you order, and we'll check right away whether we can make the change. Orders move into processing quickly, so we can't guarantee a change or cancellation; if your order has already been processed or shipped, our standard return and exchange policy applies.

Do promotions apply to every brand?

No. Ariat, Carhartt, Chippewa, Thorogood and Timberland Pro are excluded from site-wide promotions and discount offers. Promotions are valid on new purchases only and can't be applied to past orders; see our Promotion Policy.

Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?

You can request a return or exchange within 180 days. Footwear must be in resale condition, in its original packaging, with no visible signs of wear. Customized items are final sale, and full details are on our Shipping, Returns & Exchanges page.

How do I start a return or exchange?

Go to our online return portal, enter your order number and the email you used at checkout, and choose a return or an exchange. A free return shipping label is created automatically for you to print. Most customers qualify for an instant exchange, which means we ship your new pair as soon as you request it.

Is there a fee to return or exchange boots?

Exchanges are free, whether you want a different size, a different style or a digital gift card. Return labels are free to print, but non-defective returns carry an $11.95 restocking fee unless you added Free Returns + Package Protection at checkout. Clearance items are excluded from free returns, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

How should I pack my return?

Leave the boots in their original shoe box and place that box inside another shipping box. Don't use the shoe box itself as the shipping package, because marked or damaged boxes may be refused.

When will I get my refund?

Once we receive and process your return, which typically takes 1–2 business days, we refund the card you used at checkout and let you know by email. Confirmed refunds are issued within one week.

Sizing & Fit

How should work boots fit?

A good fit is snug through the heel and instep, with little heel slip and room to wiggle your toes. In a safety-toe boot, your toes shouldn't press against the toe cap. Try boots on indoors with the socks you wear on the job, and if a pair doesn't fit, exchange it for another size or width for free.

How do boot widths work?

Boot width is sized separately from length, so a wider fit gives your foot more room without going up a size. In men's sizing, D is medium, EE (2E) is wide, and 3E and 4E are wider still; women's medium is usually B. Available widths vary by style, and you can shop all of our wide fit work boots.

Safety Toes & Ratings

What's the difference between steel, composite and alloy safety toes?

Safety toes certified to ASTM F2413 meet the same impact and compression requirements, so the choice comes down to weight, thickness and temperature. Steel is the traditional option with the thinnest profile, alloy (aluminum or titanium) is lighter than steel, and composite is non-metallic, so it transfers less heat and cold and the cap itself won't set off a metal detector. Shop steel toe, composite toe and alloy toe boots.

What does EH-rated mean?

EH (electrical hazard) footwear has a sole and heel designed as a secondary source of protection against accidental contact with live electrical circuits, tested under ASTM F2413 to withstand 18,000 volts at 60 Hz for one minute in dry conditions. Wet conditions, worn soles and damage reduce that protection, so EH boots don't replace other electrical safety equipment. Soft-toe boots can also carry an EH rating under ASTM F2892; shop EH-rated boots and soft-toe work boots.

How do I read the ASTM F2413 label in a safety boot?

The label lists the standard and its revision year, followed by a code for each protection the boot passed. I/75 and C/75 mean the toe cap withstood a 75 foot-pound impact and 2,500 pounds of compression. Other common codes are Mt (metatarsal), EH (electrical hazard), PR (puncture resistant), and CD or SD (conductive or static dissipative).
