Flexible Snake Guard fabric wraps the full shaft for 360-degree coverage against most North American snake species, and the mesh lining keeps air moving so your legs aren't cooking inside a sealed boot in July.

This is a snake boot first. If you spend your days in tall grass, scrub, or timber, ranchers, surveyors, pipeliners, and hunters alike rely on the 17-inch shaft to cover the strike zone most bites land in. It's built for mild to warm conditions - not a winter boot, and not a waterproof one. If your job needs a safety toe or a waterproof liner, this isn't that boot, and that's worth knowing before you order.

Key Features of the LaCrosse 521170

Full-Grain Leather Foot with Abrasion-Resistant Heel Panel, Olive

Snake Guard, a flexible protective fabric between the liner and exterior for 360-degree snake protection without added weight, full shaft length

Quick-Drying Mesh Liner, non-waterproof, built for airflow in warm conditions

LaCrosse Prairie Outsole with low, non-loading lugs that shed mud and debris

Fiberglass Shank for support along the tall shaft

Removable Polyurethane Footbed, swap in your own orthotic if needed

Plain Toe (No Safety Toe)

Not Insulated, Not Waterproof

17" Shaft Height

Finger-Hole Pull-On, no laces to deal with

Approx. 3.5 lbs per pair

Shop more: LaCrosse Boots, LaCrosse Hunt Boots, Men's Hunting Boots

Frequently Asked Questions

Will these actually cover the spot where most snake strikes land?

Yes, the 17-inch shaft is built specifically to cover the range below the knee where most snake strikes hit.

Will my legs cook in these on a hot July afternoon?

The quick-drying mesh liner is built around airflow, so it moves moisture and heat out rather than sealing your leg in.

Can I pull these on fast without messing with laces?

Yes, the finger-hole pull-on design gets you moving without any lacing.

Does the Snake Country have a safety toe?

It is a plain-toe snake boot with no ASTM F2413 toe rating, built for hunting and field work rather than jobsites that require a protective toe.

Is the Snake Country waterproof?

It is built without a waterproof membrane or insulation;
