It is tested to withstand 18,000 volts at 60Hz for one minute without leakage, giving you EH protection even without a safety toe.

What is a lace-to-toe logger?

The laces run all the way down to the toe, letting you adjust fit across the full front of the boot for a more customized hold. Loggers favor it because it locks the heel back and stops the foot sliding forward on descents.

How does the waterproofing hold up?

Carolina's SCUBALINER™ is a sealed, bonded membrane rather than a surface treatment, so it does not wash off with use. Conditioning the leather and keeping the seams clean is what keeps it working over the life of the boot.

Can it be resoled?

Yes. Welt construction stitches the lug outsole to the upper rather than bonding it, so a cobbler can replace the sole when the lugs wear flat and you keep the leather you have broken in.

What is the kiltie for?

It is the fringed leather flap over the laces, and it keeps chips, sawdust, and grit out of the lacing. It lifts straight off if you would rather go without.

Carolina
7 / Medium /
