Mt75 is the ASTM F2413 rating for metatarsal protection at the 75-foot-pound impact level, the same energy level as an I-75 toe. Building it internally keeps the profile lower than a strap-on external guard.

Do I actually need a met guard?

It depends on what's above your feet. Met guards are specified where heavy objects can drop or roll onto the instep — logging, foundries, steel handling, heavy material yards. If your hazard assessment doesn't call for Mt-rated footwear, a plain steel toe is lighter and more flexible. Your site safety officer sets that requirement, not the boot.

Can it be resoled?

Yes. Welt construction stitches the outsole on rather than cementing it, so the lug sole can be replaced when it wears through.

What safety standards does the Elm Met Guard CA7821 meet?

The steel toe meets ASTM F2413 I/75 C/75 for impact and compression, the internal metatarsal guard meets the Mt/75 requirement, and the boot is EH rated for electrical hazard protection.

How does the CA7821 fit?

It runs true to size — order the size you wear in athletic shoes, and choose Wide if you normally need an EE width. Steel toes fit slightly closer than composite, and the internal met guard adds a little height over the instep, so lace it loosely for the first few wears.

7 /
